MITRE is actively seeking candidates at all career levels in the following areas to support the Department of Justice and the intelligence community in Clarksburg, West Virginia:

* DevOps and systems administration
* Software development and software engineering
* Systems and solutions engineering

Key Functions:
Due to the unique nature of MITRE's engagement with its Sponsors and our matrixed organizational structure, we look for candidates to fill roles as opposed to specific jobs. A high-level summary for each of the available roles is provided below.

* Biometric research engineers evaluate biometric technology and communicate findings to technical and nontechnical audiences. They also translate theoretical biometric research found in whitepapers, academic journals, and scientific publications into proof-of-concept prototypes or applications.

* DevOps engineers apply their backgrounds in systems administration, security, and physical and virtual infrastructures to shape the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software systems. They use integration tools to orchestrate automated build, test, package, and deployment pipelines. They also automate application, network, and system configuration activities to streamline application installations and upgrades.

* Software developers and software engineers apply sound principles to plan, design, implement, test, and deploy prototype software and information systems. They automate processes and perform ad-hoc tasking using scripting languages (e.g., Python) on Windows and Linux environments. Finally, they build and strengthen relationships within the MITRE and Sponsor communities in order to ensure that deliverables are practical and aligned with the overall mission.

* Systems engineers play a critical role in helping the government to improve or expand its current capabilities. They plan, analyze, and design systems and interactions between systems. They also help to establish or streamline processes that allow the Sponsor to consistently meet its mission.
Required Qualifications:
Regardless of role, a 4-year degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field is preferred.
