The successful candidate for this position will act as a Senior Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) for a large portfolio of Special Access Programs (SAPs), as well as support Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security operations. This role will have oversight of programs and staff across the MITRE enterprise at various locations. Successful candidate will assist in the implementation of security measures in accordance with applicable DoD Manuals 5205.07 and 5105.21 volumes, the NISPOM, as well as other guiding government regulations and local facility procedures. Responsible for leading and mentoring subordinate Industrial Security Programs staff members and assisting the Special Programs Security Manager in managing day-to-day operations. Recommends changes to company security policies and procedures as needed. Manage the numerous physical security requirements for special programs in accordance with ICD 705 Technical Specifications.

Key Functions
Establish and maintain an excellent working rapport with fellow staff members, subordinates, and counterparts at various locations across the enterprise. Work closely with the MITRE technical community to mesh mission needs with sponsor security requirements. Prepare Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Action Plans and other required documentation. Coordinate security program activities, including but not limited to; Self-Inspection Program, Visit Certifications, Fixed Facility Checklists, and Personnel Security Requirements for Special Access Programs for the enterprise. Develop and administer the SAP Security Education program both in-person and electronically. Administer visitor control to include conference oversight. Responsible for keeping Security and Technical Management including Directors and other high-level staff apprised of security changes in government security requirements and procedures. Ensure staff successfully complete required training in accordance with various government provided regulations, manuals and directives, and are maintaining requirements while focusing on growth in the SAP community. Oversee Special Programs Facility construction security plans and execution from start to finish. Regularly interact with sponsor personnel and support inspections, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and Security Classification Guidance (SCG). Perform indoctrinations for both Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) personnel within the AF and other DoD portfolios. Manage billet structure program and work hand-in-hand with project leadership personnel to validate access and initiate and maintain the revalidation process.

Security Clearance: Top Secret

Basic Qualifications  

Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting or supporting security operations within a contractor or government agency. Proven track record of completing tasks in a timely manner and in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of government regulations and community contacts to support the security requirements. 2 years CPSO experience within the DoD community.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to develop and execute security policy, plans and procedures. Successful completion of SCIF construction coursework conforming to ICD 705 standards. Excellent organizational/communications skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels, including senior management. Must possess strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills. Should be well versed in Microsoft Office Software applications. Candidate should be "results oriented", have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member in a leadership capacity.

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience.
5+ years of Industrial Security experience. An in-depth understanding of advanced security principles and government special security regulations.


Security Clearance: Active Top Secret with current SSBI. SAP/SCI access will be required to fulfill this position
