DoD Contractor Program Security Officer for the MITRE corporation in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsible for ensuring the protection of National Security Information in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives, and their Implementing Directives for DoD SCI and SAP Programs. Will conduct a continuous review of those programs; to Include, oversight, evaluations, and the security education of cleared employees on government and company Initiatives, policies and procedures. Candidate will utilize their substantial experience and independent judgment to provide an effective security program that encompasses all DoD and SCI/SAP work programs. Their success will focus on the partnership with our customers on a daily basis to ensure best security practices/policies/procedures and advance MITRE's mission by aligning solutions with business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Provide the day-to-day and delivering value security process execution for all aspects of our DoD SCI and SAP Program Security in accordance with SCI and SAP regulations proscribed within the applicable DD-254s. This includes, but not limited to, the management and implementation of the following disciplines:
  • Security Awareness Training & Education- providing security trainings and briefings.
  • Classification Management­ classification and markings.
  • Safeguarding of classified material-document registry, classified storage, origination, transmission, reproduction, destruction, disclosures, etc.
  • Physical security- Access and perimeter controls, combo and safe program. Assists in developing/maintaining the Fixed Facility Checklists, along with Tempest Addendums, Co-Uses, etc.
  • Visitor Control and Meetings.
  • Information systems security-ensure Implementation of IS procedures.
  • Personnel Security- Perform initial access eligibility determinations and create PARs. Maintain personnel security records for SAP/SAR/SCI related programs, to include the use of SIMS, JPAS, and JADE. Conduct initial indoctrinations for SCI/SAP approved individuals.
  • Security Incidents­ Assists CPSO in Investigation and reporting.
  • Organize meetings including scheduling, badging, visitor access, VTC support, system trouble shooting as needed.
  • Assist with courier administrative duties.
  • Debriefing individuals.
  • Foreign travel – processing and informing Sponsor.
  • Document Control.
  • Escorting.
  • Update SOPs when necessary.
