The MITRE MDA team supports the design, development, and deployment of missile defense systems for the Missile Defense Agency, the Department of Defense (DoD) and US international allies. The candidate will be involved in major projects for midcourse and regional missile defense programs based from land and sea. MITRE’s systems engineers provide on-site and reachback expertise to keep today’s missile defense system operational and relevant while helping our government sponsor develop future capabilities through technical trade studies, detailed adversary requirements analysis, and developing technical reviews and courses of action for the next generation of missile defense interceptors and associated command, control, communication, and battle management capabilities.  In this role, you will apply System Engineering principles to support acquisition strategy development, development of system technical requirements, and identification and mitigation of technical risks.  Review technical specification documentation for completeness and correctness and present technical briefings and papers to government program office customers.  Seek opportunities to apply emerging technology to the missile defense mission. Develop and present prototypes and system models to help customers frame emerging technology trends to increase affordability, efficiency, and effectiveness. This focus of this position is less on cyber security compliance and more on cyber systems 

Responsibilities include:

      This focus of this position is less on cyber security compliance and more on    cyber systems engineering

 

Basic Qualifications:

     Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Cyber-related technical discipline.

     Cyber systems engineering expertise with experience in assessing unique cyber security vulnerabilities, executing cyber risk assessments, performing technical assessments, and understanding cyber systems requirements and operations from cradle to grave. 

     Experience leading diverse teams and synthesizing multi-discipline data

 

Required Qualifications:

       Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to possess/maintain a DoD clearance

       Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word

•      Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC,        presentation, and communications skills

       Effective briefing skills and ability to work hand and hand with the US            Government and international customer program manager

 

Preferred Qualifications:

       Advanced degree in technical field of study

       Candidates that possess a current/active DoD Secret clearance are                preferred
