The MITRE Cyber & Investigative Technologies team creates versatile capabilities that enhance national security and advance the cyber domain. This role supports a cyber-focused, multi-agency task force. It requires systems engineering knowledge and software development experience to support the development and deployment of a key capability within the cyber domain that will serve constituents across the U.S. Government (USG). In this role you will:

 

  • Elicit stakeholder requirements, assess alternative architectures, and provide an approach that is complementary to the mission and vision
  • Develop and deploy a prototype capability that will serve as a solution to an integrated identities intelligence gap for the USG
  • Support the full range of the application environment data ingest, storage, transformation, query, and display
  • Demonstrate and test the prototype’s core functions and facilitate its deployment to the Sponsor’s desired environment
  • Provide accompanying technical documentation such as an operations concept, system and software design, build scripts, or deployment procedures
  • At the direction of the Sponsor, facilitate the transition of the initial prototype capability to a fully functioning system as well as provide an approach for Operations and Maintenance
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and/or software that would promote project requirements, data augmentation, discovery, entity extraction and resolution, automation, and data ingest and enrichment

 

The primary location for this role is Chantilly, VA, with periodic meetings throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

 

The strong preference is for a candidate with an existing DoD-TS clearance, but we will also consider exceptional, uncleared candidates who are willing and able to undergo the clearance process.

  • Work in a team environment to elicit and vet stakeholder requirements, assess alternative architectures, and provide an approach that is complementary to the mission and vision
  • Develop and implement a prototype that will serve as a solution to an integrated identities intelligence gap for the USG
  • Support the full range of the application environment data ingest, storage, transformation, query, and display

  • Demonstrate and test the prototypes core functions and facilitate its deployment to the Sponsor’s desired environment

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to the Sponsor on infrastructure engineering, database applications, and web application development

  • Provide independent and objective recommendations and assessments on tools, technologies, and/or software that will enhance and optimize the cyber analytic and investigative mission space

  • Provide accompanying technical documentation such as an operations concept, system and software design, build scripts, or deployment procedures
  • At the direction of the Sponsor, facilitate the transition of the initial prototype capability to a fully functioning system as well as provide an approach for Operations and Maintenance

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals to shape requirements and identify appropriate solutions

  • Experience translating user requirements into technical solutions

  • Experience with multiple database technologies and database architectures, and the ability to apply the correct technology to the given problem

  • Experience developing back-end database applications

  • Experience developing user interfaces for web applications

  • Knowledge of implementing and deploying within an AWS infrastructure

  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments as needed

  • Experience developing web applications User Interface

Experience with the following technologies:

  • Mongo DB

  • Neo4J

  • relational database experience

Experience with the following languages:

  • Python

  • JavaScript
