We are seeking a cleared, experienced Amazon Web Services (AWS) data engineer to assist in the development and deployment of creative solutions to emerging problems across unclassified and classified AWS environments.  On any given day, your work may range from performing large-scale data analysis, designing and implementing large-scale data architectures or pipelines, migrating data-driven software systems into AWS environments at multiple security levels, or working with sponsors to help guide forward-looking architectural and compute decisions. While our timelines are often short and requirements rapidly evolving, this position will enable candidates to provide massive impact to our sponsors’ most critical missions.

  • High proficiency within the AWS ecosystem, e.g. EC2/S3/Glacier/RDS/Redshift/EMR/Kinesis/SWF/SQS/Lambda/etc.
  • High proficiency with big data analytical frameworks, e.g. Spark/Hadoop.
  • High proficiency with multiple data storage technologies to support large volumes, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, cloud storage, etc.
  • High proficiency in relevant software languages for data analytics in a cloud environment, e.g. Python/Java/Scala.
  • High proficiency in Linux.
  • Familiarity with Docker or other container technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Active TS/SCI level security clearance.

Additional (Nice-to-Have but Not Required) Qualifications

  • Masters/PhD in Systems Engineering/Software Engineering or related field
  • Experience designing large-scale data architectures and/or data pipelines
  • Experience performing cost analysis of AWS data architectures
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and technologies
