Get better search results using Keywords

  • Use quotes around keywords “like this” to search for consecutive words

  • Use keywords such as AND, AND NOT, OR to do complex searches like this “Software AND Engineer AND NOT test” (keywords are not case sensitive)

  • Enter MITRE locations such as "Annapolis Junction", "Ft Meade", or "Chantilly" to find corresponding site-specific job openings

  • Enter requisition IDs such as "00047167" to find a corresponding site-specific job (be sure to include the leading zeros)

External candidates are not eligible for referral bonuses. In addition, Promote Jobs and Analytics are only available to MITRE administrators.

An employee posts a job to LinkedIn and the link is forwarded to others in the employee's network (and beyond), are they eligible for the referral?

  • As long as the applicant applies using the specific link from the jobs page and gets hired to a job, the MITRE employee will get credit for the referral.
  • Receive an email every time someone in your network uses your link to apply to a job (emails will come from "The MITRE Corporation" <donotreply@referrals.selectminds.com>).
  • Note, not all jobs can be shared and are eligible for a referral bonus.  Some jobs are internal only and cannot be shared.

An employee referred a friend in Taleo before the launch of the new job site. Is that referral still valid?

  • Yes, for one year from the time of the referral. All prior referrals are maintained and there is no need to resubmit your referral in the new system.
  • However, if you want to be the referrer for all future jobs that your candidate applies to, you'll need to send them a link via the new job site referral process.

A candidate is referred to one requisition and the department decides to tie the individual to a different req - are they still eligible?

  • Yes, once a referral is made it stays with the candidate for one year for all jobs as long as the referral was done using a link via the new job site referral process.

A candidate is referred by two different people. Who receives the referral?

  • The referral that was made first will be the valid referral for the candidate. All other referrers will be notified via email that their candidate has already been referred to MITRE.

A candidate applied to a position without a referral and later applies to different positions using a shared link. Will the employee get credit if the candidate is hired under the first position applied to?

  • No, referrals are valid for all jobs applied to after the initial referral is made. No credit will be given for jobs applied to before the referral was made.

Sharing Jobs

How do I refer my friend?

Referring your friends is easy with Social Sourcing!

In fact, there"s two ways to share:
1. Share at any time!

When logged in, you can copy the URL in your browser and paste it in a message to your friend.

Additionally, any time you click a "Copy Link" button, it will generate a unique URL that will give you referral credit when you share it.

2. Share a specific job.

When logged in, click "Recommend Job to Friend" on the job"s detail page. From there you can share the job on LinkedIn or Twitter

Copy and paste your unique referral link into an email if you prefer not to use social networks.

(the available social networks may be different than pictured)

How can I track my referral?

Tracking your referrals:

1. After sharing your unique referral link, your friend/contact will enter the site as a referral from you.

2. Once your referral starts their application, you will receive an email notification making you aware of their activity.

3. Within this notification you will be presented with the option to share your insight regarding the candidate. This endorsement will go to MITRE"s Talent Acquisition Team.

4. Should you wish to follow-up further on the applicant"s status, you will need to reach out to the appropriate MITRE recruiter and/or hiring manager.

What does my social network post look like?

Social Network Posting:

What does my LinkedIn post look like?
What do my tweets look like on Twitter?

Can I upload my friend"s resume?

Uploading a Friend"s Resume:

You sure can! Each position on the Social Sourcing site has an "Upload Friend"s Resume" button. Clicking this will prompt a window to appear, requesting certain information about your friend. Fill that out, upload their resume, and submit.

Once you"ve done that, an application will be started on their behalf with you tagged as the referrer. They"ll receive an email allowing them to continue the process, while you"ll be able to endorse the candidate, providing more insight to recruiters.
